Privacy
This page says what ExploreDresden.com keeps in your browser and what its web server records when you load a page.
Cookies and tracking
The site sets no cookies. No page or script writes one, and the web server's configuration sets none.
There is no analytics, advertising or tracking script and no embedded widget. The site's scripts are its own: one small file that fills in the year, marks the current page in the menu and runs the theme switch, and a one-line script in each page's head that puts your theme back (see the next section).
What your browser stores
One thing, in your browser's local storage, under the key dresden-theme. Its value is light or dark; when you have not chosen, nothing is stored and the site follows your device's setting.
It is written only when you press the theme switch in the header and land on light or dark. The script in each page's head reads it to apply your choice before the page is drawn. It is not sent anywhere.
To clear it, press the switch until it reads Automatic: that removes the key. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it too. If your browser blocks local storage, the switch still works, for the page you are on only.
Server logs
The web server writes an access log. For every request it records one line with the address the request came from, the time, the request itself (the method and the path asked for), the response status, the size of the response, the referring page if your browser sent one, your browser's user-agent string, and the X-Forwarded-For header if the request carried one. That header is how a proxy passes on the visitor's address. The server writes an error log as well.
How long these logs are kept is set by the hosting cluster and not by anything in the site's own files, so this page does not state it.
Fonts and other requests
The two typefaces, Cormorant Garamond and Mulish, are files on this site and are loaded from it. Nothing is requested from a font service or a content delivery network.
Loading a page here makes requests to this site's own address and to no other. Some pages link to the websites of the places they describe; those are ordinary links, nothing is fetched from them until you follow one, and what that site does is its own matter.
